Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a caring Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide routine nursing care in our facility under the direction of the Charge Nurse and leadership team. The CNA will perform rounds, assist with daily activities, and support nourishment and mobility for residents, while adhering to safety and policy guidelines.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a school for nursing assistants or have a license as a certified nursing assistant.
• A minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience during training.
• Must possess a genuine desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
• Able to deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Willing to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm for resident care.
• Must be in good general health and emotionally stable.
• Must relate to ill, disabled, elderly and sometimes difficult residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties as assigned following facility policies and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to provide care.
• Verify resident identity before care or meals and report missing IDs.
• Make beds and keep bedside areas clean and organized.
• Serve water and ensure clean pitchers within resident reach.
• Assist with dressing, meals, and feeding as needed.
• Provide nourishment per facility procedures and assist if residents cannot feed themselves.
• Ensure food is accessible and assistive devices are available.
• Prepare residents for therapy, activities, and visits and transport as needed.
• Maintain hygiene: incontinent care, linens, and clothing changes.
• Monitor nurse call system and respond promptly to alerts.
• Report complaints and any abuse or medication concerns to Charge Nurse.
• Document care performed and observe for any changes in condition.
• Attend ongoing training and participate in required meetings.
