Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide routine nursing care under policies and supervision to maintain high-quality resident care. Responsibilities include resident rounds, bed making, feeding assistance, and transporting residents for therapy or appointments.

Qualifications include enrollment in CNA program or CNA license, with a minimum of 6 months' CNA experience or clinical exposure.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a CNA program or holds CNA license.
• Minimum 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical exposure while enrolled in CNA class.
• Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies and procedures, nursing care procedures and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours thereafter.
• Verify resident identification before care or feeding.
• Make beds and clean bedside/overbed tables.
• Serve water and ensure accessibility of self-help devices.
• Dress residents and assist with dressing.
• Assist in meal preparation and feeding as needed.
• Provide nourishment and assist residents who cannot feed themselves.
• Prepare residents for therapy, activities, physician visits, or religious services and transport accordingly.
• Keep incontinent residents clean and dry; change linens and clothing as needed.
• Ensure nurse call system is in place and respond to call lights promptly.
• Report complaints, abuse, medication issues, hazards or accidents to Charge Nurse.
• Attend in-service programs and other duties as directed by supervisors.
