Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant to provide routine nursing care under supervision. You will perform resident rounds, assist with daily living activities, diet and hydration, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

Ideal candidates will be enrolled in a CNA program or hold CNA certification with at least 6 months of experience. Strong communication, health, and teamwork skills are essential for this role in our facility.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in nursing assistant program or have a CNA license.
• Minimum 6 months experience as CNA or clinical experience while enrolled in CNA class.
• Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
• Must be in good general health and emotionally stable.
• Must relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly and sometimes hostile residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies and safety rules; provide routine nursing care.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours.
• Verify resident ID before care or meals; report missing ID bands.
• Make beds and keep bedside areas clean.
• Serve water and assist with feeding as needed.
• Dress residents and assist with dressing.
• Prepare residents for meals and therapy; transport to activities.
• Keep incontinent residents clean and dry; change linens and clothing.
• Ensure nurse call system is functioning and accessible.
