Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services seeks a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine nursing care in a facility setting under the supervision of nursing leadership. The CNA will perform rounds, assist with activities of daily living, and protect resident wellbeing in accordance with established policies and procedures.

The role requires CNA licensure or active enrollment in a CNA program, English fluency, patience, empathy, and a willingness to work as part of a care team to support

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a CNA program or hold CNA license.
• Minimum 6 months CNA experience or clinical experience.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and empathy for residents.
• Must be in good health and emotionally stable.
• Capable of interacting with ill, elderly and sometimes difficult residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care according to policies and procedures.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to provide care.
• Verify resident identity before care or meals; report ID issues.
• Make beds and keep bedside areas clean.
• Serve water and ensure accessibility of self-help devices.
• Dress residents and assist with dressing as needed.
• Assist with meals and feeding when required.
• Prepare residents for therapy, activities and appointments.
• Keep residents clean, dry and comfortable; manage hygiene needs.
• Attend training and meetings as directed by supervisors.
• Report complaints or abuse promptly to supervising nurses.
