Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine nursing care under supervision in a licensed facility. Duties include resident rounds, feeding assistance, personal care, and transportation to activities, with emphasis on safety and quality care for residents.

Qualified candidates are CNAs or students enrolled in nursing assistant programs, with good English proficiency and a patient, cooperative demeanor.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a school for nursing assistants or have a CNA license.
• At least 6 months of CNA experience or clinical exposure during training.
• Sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Patient, tactful, cheerful and enthusiastic with residents of varying maturity.
• Good general health and emotional stability.
• Able to relate to ill, disabled and elderly residents, including difficult behavior.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine nursing care according to policies and procedures.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to deliver care.
• Verify resident ID before care or meals and report issues to the Charge Nurse.
• Make beds, tidy bedside areas and tables.
• Assist with meals, feeding and nourishment as required.
• Dress and assist residents with clothing and personal care.
• Transport residents to activities, therapies and physician visits.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of residents and equipment.
• Document intake, outputs and CNA notes; report changes to nurses.
