Job summary

The Alden Network in Chicago, IL is seeking a CNA in training to work under the supervision of a nurse and assist residents with daily living activities. You will follow current standards and contribute to delivering high-quality care as part of a supportive team.

Ideal candidates have completed a state-approved CNA program, can pass the competency exam, and commit to obtaining CPR certification within two weeks of employment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a state-approved CNA training program prior to hire.
• Must pass the CNA Competency Examination and be listed on the Healthcare Worker Registry within 120 days of hire.
• Be at least 16 years of age, of temperate habits and good moral character, honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Must possess current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in caring for the ill, disabled, and elderly. Must be able to deal tactfully with customers, family members, visitors, personnel etc.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must be personable, enthusiastic, and personable.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living and other tasks as directed by the staff nurse.
• Attends resident care plan conferences when invited and participates in care planning.
• Reports concerns or complaints to the Administrator promptly.
• Makes rounds to ensure residents are safe and comfortable.
• Maintains a warm, calm environment throughout the department and supports staff.
