Kindred Hospital Houston Northwest and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) seek a compassionate Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care in an LTACH/ARU setting. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, and basic clinical tasks under supervision.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, Nursing Assistant and BLS certifications, and at least six months of experience in acute or long-term care.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations.

Responsabilités

• Consult with supervisor on unit activities, needs and problems related to patient care.
• Provide general nursing care including patient positioning, transfers, bed care, feeding and daily living activities.
• Record vital signs and intake/output accurately and document promptly.
• Prepare rooms for admission and transfers; maintain a clean, comfortable environment.
• Assist in patient admission, transfer and discharge procedures and protect patient belongings.
• Answer call lights, telephones and paging systems and respond promptly.
• Under RN direction, perform routine treatments such as enemas and heat/cold therapy.
• Assist with restraints under RN direction and ensure proper positioning.
• Assist RN/LVN with more complex treatments as needed.
• Serve and remove meal trays, assist with feeding and food preparation.
