Job summary

Kindred Hospital Northland is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in patient care on the acute/long-term care unit. You will assist with activities of daily living and provide emotional support under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, preparing rooms, assisting with admissions and discharges, and ensuring patient comfort. A High School diploma, Nursing Assistant certification, and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations.
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with activities of daily living and basic care.
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes.
• Prepare patient rooms and beds; ensure cleanliness and comfort.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Answer patient call lights and respond to needs promptly.
• Assist with feeding and mobility; operate basic equipment as directed.
• Maintain patient safety and report concerns to RN.
