Job summary

Kindred Hospital Houston Northwest and ARU in Houston seeks a dedicated Nursing Assistant to support patient care in our LTACH and Acute Rehabilitation Unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor patients, and collaborate with RNs and LVNs to deliver compassionate, hands-on care.

This role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, current Nursing Assistant Certification, BLS, and at least six months in acute or long-term care.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, and work under pressure.
• Regular attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing personnel in patient care and daily living activities.
• Record vital signs and measurements; document promptly.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for admissions and transfers.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures.
• Respond to patient call lights and paging systems.
• Under RN supervision, perform routine treatments as needed.
• Assist with meals and feeding when required.
