Job summary

Kindred Hospital Westminster is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff in patient care in a long-term acute care setting. You will assist with activities of daily living, provide emotional support, and help with basic clinical tasks under RN supervision.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, current Nursing Assistant Certification and BLS, with at least six months in acute or long-term care. Excellent communication and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Consults with and informs supervisor of unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
• Provides general nursing care: positioning, turning, equipment assistance, bedpan/urinal/commode use, hygiene, linens, and overall room maintenance.
• Takes and records vital signs and intake/output; documents promptly.
• Prepares patient rooms for admission and transfers; maintains clean, comfortable environment.
• Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures and handles patient belongings.
• Responds to patient call lights and paging system; responds appropriately.
• Under RN direction, performs routine treatment procedures.
• Assists with restraints under RN supervision and ensures proper positioning.
• Supports RN/LPN with more complex treatments.
• Serves and removes patient meal trays and assists with feeding.
