Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services in Torrance, CA is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine nursing care under supervision. The role includes resident rounds, feeding assistance, hygiene, and transport to activities as needed.

The CNA will ensure accurate identification before care, maintain a safe environment, and report concerns to the Charge Nurse. Excellent communication and compassion are essential in caring for ill and elderly residents.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a nursing assistant program or licensed CNA.
• Minimum 6 months CNA experience or clinical CNA experience.
• Desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Able to read, write, and speak English.
• Able to interact tactfully with residents, families, staff and visitors.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with others.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
• In good health and emotionally stable.
• Able to relate to ill, disabled, elderly and upset individuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies, nursing care procedures and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to provide care.
• Verify resident ID before care or meals.
• Make beds and clean bedside tables.
• Serve water and meals; ensure accessibility and self-help devices.
• Dress residents and assist with clothing as needed.
• Assist with meals and feeding if needed.
• Prepare residents for therapy, appointments or religious services.
• Maintain cleanliness and change linens for incontinent residents.
• Ensure nurse call system is within reach and respond to calls promptly.
• Report complaints, abuse, hazards to the Charge Nurse and attend trainings.
• Attend in-service education and other duties as directed.
