Job summary

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a CNA program or have a CNA license.
• Minimum 6 months CNA experience or clinical experience during certification class.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, visitors and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, tact and cheerful disposition with residents at all maturity levels.
• Must be in good health and emotionally stable.
• Able to relate to ill, disabled, elderly and emotionally upset residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies, nursing care procedures and safety rules.
• Make resident rounds at the start of each shift and every two hours thereafter.
• Verify resident identification before care or meals.
• Make beds and clean bedside/overbed tables.
• Serve water and ensure accessibility to residents.
• Assist in dressing, meals, and feeding as needed.
• Support therapy, activities and appointments including transport.
• Keep incontinent residents clean and dry; change linens and clothing as needed.
• Report any medication found to the Charge Nurse and other hazards immediately.
• Attend in-service programs and other duties as directed by nursing leadership.
