Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services seeks a compassionate nursing assistant to provide daily supportive and functional care to residents, following established procedures under nursing leadership. Works as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary team that focuses on the resident as the director of their own care.

You will assist with activities of daily living, support meals, maintain residents’ dignity, document care, and aid therapies under licensed staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to participate as part of a person-centered care team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents.
• Prior experience with direct patient/resident care is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains residents’ comfort; provides ADL care per scope of practice; responds to call lights and reports observations to the nurse.
• Assists with personal care and supports residents in maintaining independence and dignity.
• Observes residents to identify changing needs and reports to the nurse.
• Participates in care/service planning to improve residents’ lives.
• Assists with mealtime support for residents needing full assistance.
• Builds meaningful relationships with residents and families with compassion and professionalism.
• Supports residents’ involvement in daily activities and decision making.
• Assists with therapies and treatments under licensed staff guidance.
• Documents care provided in clinical records.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment.
