Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Bridgeport, WV is seeking a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide quality care and assistance with daily living activities for residents.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily tasks, responding to calls or emergencies, conducting activities, and maintaining confidentiality. Requirements: high school diploma or GED, completion of an approved PCA program, effective communication, and willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed an approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must follow instructions from supervisor and be a contributing team member.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Must lift 50 lbs. and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Must wear designated uniform and name badge.
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must represent the community positively and professionally.
• Must attend all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Reports incidents and care concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Performs housekeeping duties as directed.
• Responds promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assists in planning and conducting resident activity programs.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident information.
• Assists residents to and from dining and activities.
• Checks on residents and ensures attendance at meals and activities.
• Communicates resident status and upcoming events to the team.
• Provides emotional support during move-in transitions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
