Job summary

Bon Secours seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Cardiopulmonary Care Unit at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, VA. The role is PRN, supporting nursing staff with basic patient care, vital signs, hygiene and mobility, while documenting care and coordinating with the healthcare team.

Ideal candidates have completed a nursing aide program or equivalent, with BLS preferred. EPIC EHR training is a plus; compensation ranges by shift and experience.

Qualifications

• CPCT licensure or nursing aide certification required or equivalent.
• BLS certification preferred; must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Experience in acute care or long-term care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care, including comfort, hygiene, mobility support and vital signs.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Deliver high-quality customer service to patients and families.
• Document accurately and timely in patient records and hand off information appropriately.
• Assist with routine tasks and patient transfers using safe techniques.
• Promote patient independence and individualized care based on needs.
