Job summary

Bon Secours is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Coronary Care Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital. The PCT provides basic health care under RN guidance, supports patient hygiene, activities of daily living, and vital signs monitoring. Strong communication and customer service are essential.

CPR/BLS certification is preferred; nursing aide training or CNA/Nurse Aide credentials are required or must be completed. EPIC EHR experience is a plus and acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Nursing aide training or CNA/Nurse Aide certification required.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred or must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• Experience in acute care, home health, or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility assistance.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes.
• Provide high-quality customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in the EHR.
• Assist with hand-offs and reporting of patient needs on admission and discharge.
• Perform delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Assist with safe patient transfers and encourage patient independence.
• Tailor care to each patient’s interests and routines.
