Tufts Medicine Behavioral Health Hospital in Malden, MA is hiring a Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) for its new 144-bed facility opening February 2026. The role provides personal care under clinical leadership, with a strong emphasis on patient safety and compassionate service.

Responsibilities include safety checks, assisting with daily living activities, documenting in medical records, and supporting a structured, therapeutic environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.
• CPR, de-escalation and restraint Certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsabilités

• Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
• Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision at 15 minute intervals or as needed.
• Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in the patient\'s medical record.
• Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, significant others and staff.
• Interact regularly with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
• May oversee or assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• May obtain patient vital signs, height and weight, and document in records.
• Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups covering social skills, coping skills, anger management and independent living skills.
• Engage patients in activities designed to achieve treatment goals.
• Complete and maintain required documentation; assist with follow-up and paperwork on incidents.
• May provide transportation for patients or coordinate transportation with staff.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude; address complaints and prioritize patient safety.
