Job summary

Tufts Medicine Behavioral Health Hospital in Malden, MA invites a dedicated Behavioral Health Associate to join a full-time day shift. Three weeknights and every other weekend create a predictable schedule while you provide compassionate, patient-centered care under clinical or nursing leadership.

You will assist patients with daily living activities, perform safety checks, document care promptly, and communicate observations to the nursing team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
• Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision at 15-minute intervals as needed.
• Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in the patient's medical record.
• Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, family members and staff.
• Interact with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to nursing staff.
• May assist patients with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, etc.).
• May obtain vital signs and document in patient records.
• Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups covering social skills, coping, anger management and independent living skills.
• Engage patients in activities to achieve treatment goals and complete required documentation.
