Job summary

Haverhill Pavilion Behavioral Health seeks a part-time Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) to join our facility. The BHA works under nursing supervision, providing 1:1 patient support and helping maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients admitted to the unit.

Shift differentials apply, with weekend/evening/overnight incentives. The role involves 24 hours per week, with shifts 11:00PM–7:30AM and every other weekend as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months experience with similar patient population preferred.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training required; training provided on hire.
• First aid may be required depending on state/facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety checks every 15 minutes to ensure patient safety.
• Engage with patients to assess mental status and progress toward treatment goals.
• Provide consistent 1:1 support for assigned patients and maintain therapeutic engagement.
• Float to different units to meet staffing needs.
• Educate colleagues on patient triggers, warning signs, and coping strategies.
• Assist with discharge planning by identifying barriers.
