Job summary

BrightView Health is seeking a dedicated Counselor to join our treatment team in Portsmouth, VA. You will provide group therapy, patient intake assessments, crisis intervention, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary onsite team to support recovery journeys.

The role requires 1+ year of relevant experience and state-registered licensure or certification (CSAC-S or equivalent). A Bachelor's degree is preferred; we offer a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a relevant field
• Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a relevant field
• Active entry-level clinical certification or licensure per state requirements (CSAC-S)

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct group therapy sessions and patient intake assessments.
• Provide crisis and de-escalation techniques.
• Assist with treatment planning and review progress toward goals.
• Coordinate patient care with onsite multidisciplinary team.
• Attend required on-site staff and MDT meetings.
• Document treatment data in the electronic health record.
• Ensure regulatory and company compliance requirements are met.
