Job summary

BrightView Health in Chesapeake, VA seeks a dedicated Counselor to support individuals on their recovery journey. You will provide counseling, risk assessment, and collaborative care within a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient support, accurate documentation, and adherence to regulatory standards. A state license/credential and relevant experience are preferred to contribute to BrightView Health’s mission of quality care.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Empathetic and compassionate to support recovery journeys.
• Team-player in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Adaptable and agile in a dynamic work setting.
• Familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word).
• Compliance-focused with integrity.
• Harm reduction experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct group therapy sessions and patient intake assessments.
• Provide crisis and de-escalation techniques.
• Assist with treatment planning.
• Review progress towards treatment plan goals.
• Coordinate patient care with the onsite multidisciplinary team.
• Attend required meetings, including on-site staff meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Document all treatment data in the electronic health record.
• Follow regulatory and company compliance requirements.
