Job summary

Pathways to Life, Inc. seeks a Substance Abuse Specialist to provide community-based services for individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health needs.

This professional will work within the Community Supports Team (CST) to support recovery, stability, and quality of life through person-centered care and collaboration with behavioral health resources. The role emphasizes assessment, treatment planning, crisis planning, and care coordination with CST partners.

Qualifications

• Credential in North Carolina substance use required.
• Allowed credentials: CADC, LCAS, LCAS-A or CCS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop person-centered treatment plans with CST partners.
• Support symptom monitoring, education, and recovery-focused interventions.
• Help clients build coping and daily living skills for long-term recovery.
• Participate in crisis planning and ongoing care coordination.
• Assist with authorization renewals to maintain uninterrupted services.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team while maintaining professional autonomy.
• Contribute to service area growth through community engagement.
