Job summary

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is seeking a Community Associate for the Resident Relocations Services Department to support relocation of NYCHA residents during planned modernization or urgent repairs.

Under supervision, the Community Associate conducts the Intake Survey and Moving Assessments and performs liaison duties with residents, interpreters, and stakeholders, while handling administrative tasks and scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or related duties.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.

Responsibilities

• Provide liaison functions between the agency and residents.
• Connect residents with interpretation services per policy.
• Help clients fill out and submit forms.
• Support intake procedures and resident follow-up.
• Assist with contacting residents and collecting relocation information.
• Assist with distributing informational materials to residents and stakeholders.
• Help maintain schedules and calendars for relocation activities and appointments.
• Assist with routine office duties including data entry, filing, and answering telephones.
• Explain and discuss the department's procedures with tenants.
• Support the coordination of meetings and relocation-related activities.
