Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum six (6) months experience working with people, preferably in a food services or other similar environment.
• Ability to take directions and adapt to fast pace environment.
• Must be familiar with quantity food preparation, kitchen equipment and proper sanitation practices.
• Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to issues of homelessness, chemical addiction, and unemployment, racial and cultural diversity.
• Possess an aptitude in oral communications.
• Must be trustworthy, especially in confidential matters.
• Ability to accept supervision and work with a team of co-workers.
• Ability to use Salvation Army approved word processing, email, and timecards.
• Valid Driver's License and driver qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operation of a commercial kitchen, including preparing meals and service.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in kitchen and dining areas.
• Monitor meal schedules and safety/compliance with health requirements.
• Assist volunteers and interact professionally with clients and staff.
• Drive company vehicle to pick up and deliver meals and supplies.
