Job summary

Fairstead, a purpose-driven real estate firm headquartered in New York, seeks a Community Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and on-site compliance at one of its properties. You’ll lead leasing compliance, coordinate with the Compliance Department, and drive performance across maintenance, budgeting, and resident services.

The role requires 3 years of management experience, familiarity with HUD/Fair Housing/ADA, and experience in affordable housing.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of management experience including supervising a team.
• COS Certification or CPO Certification.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• EIV experience.
• Yardi experience preferred.
• Experience in Affordable Housing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day property operations and on-site compliance.
• Maintain adherence to HUD, Fair Housing, ADA, and Fair Credit Reporting Act.
• Coordinate with Compliance Dept. on regulatory responses and remediation actions.
• Oversee annual and interim certifications and LIHTC/HUD reviews.
• Supervise maintenance, coordinate vendor bids, and approve expenditures.
• Process applications, collect rents, and manage delinquencies and evictions.
• Prepare reports on building performance and budgets for PM oversight.
• Support construction projects and prevent violations during renovations.
