Job summary

Rochester's Cornerstone Group in Buffalo seeks an experienced Affordable Housing Community Manager to oversee Mt. Aaron Village. The role includes rent collection, compliance, reporting, and resident relations to maintain a harmonious, compliant property.

Applicants should have a high school diploma; associate degree or real estate education is preferred. Experience with RealPage OneSite and MS Office is desired; NYS Notary must be obtained within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Experience in property management, preferably affordable housing.
• LIHTC and HUD knowledge a plus.
• Experience in multi-site management and with RealPage OneSite.

Responsibilities

• Manage communications with residents and staff professionally.
• Collect rent, process billing, and handle payments including Section 8.
• Prepare reports for regional managers and accounting.
• Maintain resident files for audits and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct move-in/out tasks and inspect properties with residents.
• Enforce lease terms and Fair Housing compliance.
• Assist with property tours and new resident orientation.

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Affordable Housing Community Manager to assist in managing Mt. Aaron Village in Buffalo!
Compensation: $52,000 - $58,000/annually (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Manages communications with residents and staff ensuring a harmonious and professional workplace environment.
• Collects rent payments, process billing, post payments, and deposit receipts according to company procedures (including handling Section 8 and other supplemental payments).
• Prepares required reports for Regional/Area Managers, Accounting, and other departments.
• Maintains accurate and compliant resident files for both internal and external audits.
• Completes move-out paperwork and manages security deposit processes, ensuring accurate data input into relevant software (e.g., Onesite).
• Conducts property tours, new resident orientation, and move-in and move-out inspections with residents.
• Enforces lease agreements and community rules in accordance with Fair Housing laws.
• Walks property regularly to inspect conditions, exterior and interior.
• Prepares property for audits or regulatory inspections, ensuring adherence to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations regarding multifamily housing.
  

Essential Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate degree/Real Estate Education/Degree Preferred.
• Prior experience in property management or related field. Preference is given to experience in Affordable Housing.
• Knowledge of LIHTC and HUD.
• Experience in multi-site management.
• Property management software experience is required, preference is given to prior experience with RealPage OneSite.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office navigating the Internet.
• Command of the English language with the ability to edit the work of others.
• Familiar with standards for business letters, memos, contracts, etc.
• NYS Notary License must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Performs other duties as assigned and commits to promoting company culture, mission, and values.
• Reliable transportation.
