Job summary

Rochester’s Cornerstone Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Syracuse, NY area team. You will maintain the property, perform repairs and assist in move-ins, ensuring NSPIRE standards are met.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of maintenance experience. You will be on-call, with a valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation. We offer comprehensive benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years’ minimum experience related to maintenance and building systems.
• Prior experience in property management is a plus.
• Personal cell phone use required (reimbursement included).
• Must have reliable transportation, valid NYS driver’s license and ability to respond to on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall cleanliness and daily upkeep per Cornerstone and NSPIRE standards.
• Take pride in your craft and work quality.
• Take initiative and accountability.
• Perform snow removal/landscaping as needed.
• Assist and/or work independently on maintenance requests and repairs.
• Communicate maintenance activities, issues, work orders and vacancy status in writing and verbally.
• Assist with preparing apartments for move-in.
• Inspect property daily for cleanliness and curb appeal.
• Maintain professional, respectful attitude with staff and residents.
• Perform other duties and support company culture, mission and values.

Maintenance Technician: Syracuse, NY area

Compensation: $20 - $24/hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain overall cleanliness, daily upkeep and the overall needs of the property, all aspects, inside and out according to the Cornerstone and NSPIRE standards.

• Assist and/or work independently on maintenance service requests, and repairs.
• Communicate in writing and verbally on maintenance activities, including problems encountered, work orders and vacancy status updates.
• Assist and/or work independently with the team preparing apartments for move in of future tenants.
• Inspect the property daily and maintain proper cleanliness and curb appeal.
• Maintain professional and respectful attitude at all times, working cooperatively with staff, co-workers and residents.
• Performs other duties as assigned and commits to promoting company culture, mission and values.
