Job summary

UMH Properties, Inc. is hiring a full-time Maintenance person for Summit Estates Community to handle groundskeeping and repairs on community homes and lots.

Responsibilities include inspecting common areas, performing repairs, and maintaining safety and cleanliness throughout the site. The role requires a valid driver’s license, experience in home repairs and heavy equipment, and the ability to work overtime on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Experience in home repairs, plumbing, and grounds maintenance.
• Snow plow experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize safety and attend periodic safety trainings.
• Strong time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive UMH vehicles through the community to inspect common areas.
• Record violations observed during daily inspections.
• Repair and maintain community-owned homes and lots.
• Maintain community grounds including mowing, weed eating, removing leaves and debris, plowing snow, and shoveling sidewalks.
• Keep work areas clean and safe; ensure areas remain clear of obstructions.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained and serviced regularly.
• Take daily readings where required and log results.
• Follow Hazard Communication Program and safety procedures.
• Operate power tools and heavy equipment.
• Follow lockout procedures for energy isolating devices.
• Communicate professionally with coworkers and management.
• Assist with new home installations such as sewer/water connections and decks.
