Job summary

Louisville Metro Government is seeking a Library Branch Manager to oversee operation, staff, and services of a community library branch. You will develop service plans, staff development, and coordinate branch programming with limited supervision.

The role entails managing programs, promotions, and outreach while guiding policy and procedures to enhance library collections and community impact.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Library Science.
Three (3) years of library supervisory experience.
Must hold and maintain Kentucky Professional certification within 30 days of employment.
Eligible for certificate of Librarianship from the State Board.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
Must work a varied schedule.
Must provide own transportation.

Responsibilities

Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff and completes performance appraisals.
Coordinates work, schedules and standards; monitors progress and provides guidance.
Assists in budget preparation and monitors expenditures.
Prepares statistical reports and conducts special projects.
Assists patrons with locating materials and resources.
Promotes library programs and services in the community.
Develops staff training programs and facilitates meetings.
Provides customer service and technology assistance to the public.
