Job summary

St Tammany Parish Library is seeking a Branch Manager to oversee daily branch operations, supervise staff, and ensure exemplary patron services. The role includes scheduling, training, and leading programming, including youth services and story times, while maintaining facilities and addressing issues.

Ideal candidates will have an MLIS or relevant degree, or substantial library experience, plus the ability to manage people and work across various library environments.

Qualifications

• MLIS with no minimum years of experience, or a college degree plus three years in a library setting, or five years of full-time library experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to supervise staff and manage branch operations.
• Strong knowledge of library policies, procedures, and patron services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily service and support operations in the branch.
• Train and supervise staff; schedule coverage for optimal branch operation.
• Lead Youth Services programming and story times.
• Address staff and patron concerns and resolve issues.
• Ensure building and grounds are maintained and facilities issues are reported.
• Plan and execute programs for all ages.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
