Job summary

You will assist in meal prep, operate kitchen equipment safely, and collaborate with staff to ensure timely service. The role requires 1+ year kitchen experience and a ServSafe certification. The position pays $17.00–$18.00 per hour and is based on a part-time schedule in a care facility setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe certification required.
• At least 1 year of kitchen experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as per recipes.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other culinary tools.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during busy periods.
• Identify food and supplies needed for the next week’s menus and report to the dining leadership team.
• Prepare meats for storage and portion control upon delivery; ensure proper handling, storage and labeling of all delivered foods and ingredients.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, safe, and sanitary kitchen.
• Ensure compliance with any and all policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and procedures and any additional duties as required.
