Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated kitchen and program support role in Michigan to prepare meals, maintain sanitary kitchen environments, and assist donors and volunteers. The position focuses on safe food handling, inventory management, and team collaboration inside a community setting.

Qualifications include at least one year in food service and a High school diploma or equivalent; ServSafe certification is required or obtainable within six months.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in food services or institutional cooking.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ServSafe certification required or obtained within six months.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license with insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and maintain a sanitary, organized kitchen and dining area.
• Receive, rotate, stock, and store food and supplies following inventory practices.
• Provide courteous assistance to donors and visitors; offer receipts and record in-kind donations.
