Job summary

Avanath is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our properties well-maintained and inviting for residents. You will diagnose and repair issues, perform preventative maintenance, and assist with make-ready units to support leasing efforts.

Ideal candidates have multifamily maintenance experience, hands-on skills in plumbing/electrical/HVAC, and strong customer service. On-call availability and reliable transportation are required, with opportunities for growth within Avanath.

Qualifications

• 2 years of multifamily maintenance experience is highly desired.
• Hands-on maintenance skills (plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, HVAC, appliances, pools).
• EPA Type II or Universal certification is highly desired; CPO is a plus.
• Availability to be on-call to address emergencies.
• Reliable transportation.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop skills.
• Superior customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer knowledge (Windows, Word, Excel), internet, and email.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service with every interaction and deliver high-quality maintenance service.
• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance per policies, safety standards, and codes.
• Complete make-ready process for vacant homes, including inspections, punch lists, and coordinating vendors.
• Maintain grounds, common areas, and amenities; perform cleaning and minor repairs as needed.
• Support cost-control by fixing rather than replacing parts when possible and manage materials efficiently.
• Follow safety policies, participate in safety meetings, and report incidents promptly.
