Job summary

Vertin seeks a General Manager to lead a team and P&L on-site at the Gillette, WY location, with relocation offered. The role combines leadership of operations (60%) with serving families as Funeral Director (40%), focusing on community presence and service excellence across multiple sites.

You will grow market share, develop people, and ensure compliance with licensing while maintaining Vertin’s century-old mission in the community.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in mortuary science and dual license as Funeral Director and Embalmer.
• Licensed in Wyoming or eligible for Wyoming licensure.
• Strong communication and consensus-building to translate financial reports into action.
• Experience managing multiple sites across a broad geographic area.
• Solid understanding of sound business practices.
• Strong prioritization, multitasking, and delegation.
• Ability to build relationships across a multi-community footprint.
• Current Funeral Director license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead team performance and scheduling; ensure goals are met.
• Engage community and elevate brand presence; lead local events and social media.
• Oversee funeral and memorial services with professionalism and care.
• Maintain service excellence, safety, licensing compliance, and aftercare.
• Manage logistics: parking, ushering, transport, and supply runs.
• Prepare service documents; maintain vehicles, facilities, and inventory.
