Job summary

Brunswick County in North Carolina is seeking a Community Enforcement Supervisor to oversee the Community Enforcement Division within the Planning and Community Enforcement Department. Under limited supervision, you will supervise staff, enforce county ordinances and coordinate with the County Attorney, Zoning Administrator and Planning Director to resolve enforcement matters.

Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field and at least five years’ experience, including one year in a lead role,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in planning, engineering, zoning, public or business administration, or related field.
Five (5) years of experience with zoning ordinances and/or regulatory enforcement; at least one (1) year in lead or supervisory role.
Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License required; local government experience and CZO designation desirable.

Responsibilities

Oversees the Community Enforcement Division operations.
Supervises Community Enforcement staff and enforces compliance activities.
Provides education to help abate complaints and reviews zoning/ordinance issues.
Coordinates with County Attorney, Zoning Administrator, and Planning Director on enforcement matters.
