Job summary

Qualifications

Must have a bachelor’s degree with coursework as described.
Five years of experience with zoning ordinances or regulatory enforcement, including at least one year in a lead or supervisory role.
Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License required.
Certified Zoning Official (CZO) designation highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Oversee operations of the Community Enforcement Division.
Supervise staff and manage enforcement compliance activities.
Educate to abate complaints and enforce Brunswick County Development and Solid Waste Ordinances.
Review complaints and proactively develop solutions; coordinate with County Attorney, Zoning Administrator, and Planning Director.
Provide support and training to assigned staff; interact with the public and stakeholders.
