Work Opportunities Unlimited in Somerville, MA, is seeking a Community Employment Coach (Career Resource Specialist) to help individuals find meaningful employment. You will guide resume writing, job applications, cover letters, and interview prep, while engaging local businesses to create opportunities.

This role offers flexible part-time hours (4–5 days per week 9-2 or 12-5), mileage reimbursement, and growth opportunities through our Management Training Program.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and willing to travel locally.
• Flexible part-time hours (4-5 days per week 9-2 or 12-5).
• Comfortable using MS Office and mobile apps.
• Experience in high-touch customer service environments.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals develop career goals and objectives.
• Teach resume writing, effective job applications, cover letters, and interview prep.
• Engage with local businesses to create job opportunities.
• Coach individuals at their job sites.
• Travel within the local community for coaching with mileage reimbursement.

As an Community Employment Coach (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Community-based travel in your personal vehicle to facilitate community-based job development and coaching, ensuring all services are delivered directly in the local environment. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Additional requirements include:

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday - Friday, daytime business hours; flexible part-time hours (4-5 days per week 9-2 or 12-5 - your choice)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device

Pay: $22-$25 per hour
