Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) is an employee-owned organization serving New Hampshire since 1982. We are seeking a Community Employment Coach (Career Resource Specialist) to engage individuals in work, recreation, and activities that promote independent living in their communities.

The role includes long-term on-site support, acting as coach and advocate, aiding participation in activities, and daily community travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-touch customer service environments.
• Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community.
• Familiar with MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and using mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Provide long-term, on-site job support for the duration of an individual’s employment.
• Serve as coach and advocate to promote workplace success.
• Support participation in volunteer and recreational activities to develop self-advocacy and independent living skills.
• Engage in daily community-based travel with mileage reimbursement.

Community Employment Coaches (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) engage individuals in work, recreation, and other personal activities that promote living a preferred lifestyle in their community. Work & Community Support gives the individual the opportunity to participate in activities that will put them on a path to independence.

A typical day might include the following:

• Provide long-term, on-site, job support for the duration of an individual’s employment
• Serve as their coach and advocate to foster success in the workplace
• Support their participation in volunteer and/or other recreational activities to help develop self-advocacy, independent living and communication skills
• Engage in daily community-based travel, providing transportation as you actively accompany individuals to work, volunteer and community sites to build their path to independence. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Additional requirements include:

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday – Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time to choose 3-5 days per week, with hours between 8:00 or 8:30am – 3:00 or 3:30pm each day)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device

Pay: $20-$22 per hour
