Job summary

American Red Cross in Houston, TX seeks a Community Disaster Program Specialist to guide and support volunteer teams delivering disaster relief services. You will engage local partners, build capacity, and ensure culturally and linguistically accessible programs for frontline communities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), 3+ years of related experience, and strong communication skills. Some deployments and flexible hours may be required as part of a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Empower Volunteers: lead and support volunteer teams for disaster cycle services.
• Assist with successful implementation of disaster cycle services activities within geographic area.
• Build mission capacity by engaging a diverse volunteer workforce.
• Engage community partners to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
