Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Hawaii is seeking a Security Guard to maintain a safe environment for employees, clients, and visitors. The role provides a visible security presence, conducts rounds, and supports emergency procedures during operating hours and beyond.

The selected candidate will uphold the Center’s policies, be able to respond to incidents, and assist with access control while representing The Salvation Army in the community.

Qualifications

• Must have current valid State of Hawaii Guard Card.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One-two years’ work experience.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, follow detailed procedures, and have good customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visual security presence by circulating among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property and help maintain a peaceful atmosphere.
• Conduct hourly rounds to monitor facility activity and report problems to the Security Manager.
• Check stairwells, fire exits, mechanical room, and fire extinguishers and pull boxes.
• Monitor alarm systems, sign in/out keys and audiovisual equipment, and manage access for staff and visitors.
• Maintain a shift log and ensure adherence to center policies and procedures.
