Qualifications

• Must have current valid State of Hawaii Guard Card.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One-two years' work experience
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, follow detailed procedures, and have good customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visual security presence by circulating among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property and help maintain a peaceful atmosphere.
• Conduct hourly rounds to monitor facility activity and report problems to the Security Manager; check stairwells, fire exits, mechanical room, and fire extinguishers and pull boxes.
• Under guidance, ensure mechanical systems function properly and record conditions (standing water, fire hazards, pool area checks, mechanical room).
• Monitor alarm systems, sign in/out keys and audiovisual equipment, admit staff/visitors, check in/out deliveries, and answer the security office phone.
• Ensure appropriate customers have membership cards for admittance when staffing the security office.
• Familiarize with Emergency Action Plan and evacuation procedures and conduct emergency procedures as necessary.
• Control crowds as required.
• Apprehend or evict violators after warning as needed.
• Secure the Center's entrances at end of operating hours.
• Maintain a shift log and adhere to Salvation Army Policies.
• Attend staff and administrative meetings; maintain regular attendance.
• Monitor and adjust computerized lighting and timers; perform other duties as assigned.
