Job summary

First Community Bank is seeking a Personal Banker I to provide accurate information on bank products, handle inquiries, and resolve customer issues in a friendly, compliant manner.

You will build relationships, promote banking services, and guide customers through in-person and digital options while maintaining security and confidentiality of sensitive information. The role includes opening accounts, product referrals, and supporting branch operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service history and problem solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to follow policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to handle cash and banking transactions accurately.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Establish friendly relationships with customers and promptly handle inquiries.
• Promote and inform customers about banking products.
• Provide information on accounts, balances, and transaction history.
• Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Protect customer information and use it for official purposes.
• Improve customer experience by resolving issues quickly and accurately.
• Conduct effective product presentations to recommend appropriate accounts.
• Explain Tell-A-Friend program and distribute coupons with enthusiasm.
• Assist customers with in-person and digital banking options.
• Promote technology usage among clients to enhance banking convenience.
• Open new accounts and service existing ones per procedures.
• Minimize and resolve deposit exceptions to avoid account closures.
• Make referrals to Wealth, Mortgage, and Treasury Services as appropriate.
• Perform branch operations as assigned by Branch Manager.
• Participate in bank marketing campaigns to grow the customer base.
• Assist with consumer loan questions and applications and verify documentation.
• Serve as Teller: handle cash, deposits, checks, and loan payments.
• Complete required training within set timeframes.
• May perform cash vault duties in some markets.
