Job description

Join to apply for the Community Associate role at City of New York.

Temporary position with a duration of 12 months.

Responsibilities

The Community Associate for the Lead Hazard Control Department will provide administrative and clerical support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating communication between City agencies, community organizations, and residents.
  • Performing difficult and responsible clerical operations.
  • Daily data entry in Maximo.
  • Preparing and maintaining records, reports, and statistics.
  • Responding to vendor inquiries and assisting with daily issues.
  • Providing administrative support, coordinating meetings, and related tasks.
Additional Information
  • NYCHA employees applying for promotions must have served at current location and in current title for at least one year.
  • NYCHA residents are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus three years of community work or related activities, or
  • Equivalent education and/or experience.
Preferred Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Access) and Maximo.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and analyze information.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
