Job summary

Orano USA is seeking a Communications Intern in Oak Ridge, TN to support development and execution of communication strategies for Project IKE. You will write, edit, and help disseminate information across media and internal channels, while engaging with local communities.

You will gain hands-on experience in public relations, media relations, and content creation, under guidance from experienced professionals, with a housing stipend and a 10-week summer program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mass communications, journalism, PR, media studies, or related field.
• Experience or coursework in at least two areas: communications, public relations, media, or journalism.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex info.
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation; able to manage multiple workstreams.
• Familiar with using AI for communications tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Assist corporate community engagement with local schools and municipalities.
• Attend public meetings relevant to Project IKE.
• Write and edit external communication materials: press releases, articles, social posts, presentations, talking points, website content.
• Support regional events involving Orano's Project IKE or corporate teams.
• Monitor and help manage the organization's public image.
• Assist with media relations, including outreach and responding to inquiries.
• Ensure adherence to branding, messaging, image, and graphics requirements.
• Create and update internal communications content.
• Assess, compile and format actionable metrics.
• Perform special projects as assigned.
