Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory in Detroit, MI is seeking a Commodities Assistant Supervisor for a full-time role in our donation processing center. You will assist the Production Supervisor, supervise production staff, and support budgeting and financial efficiencies.

Responsibilities include coordinating purchasing, monitoring inventory and commodity sales, ensuring safety compliance, and developing a positive, skilled team while adhering to TSA policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of management experience in production scheduling and supervision.
• Experience in warehouse, production, logistics or related operations preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production within the warehouse, including baling and compacting.
• Support product control to prevent shrinkage and manage vendor relations.
• Monitor inventory and budget adherence while maximizing efficiency.
• Lead recruitment, training, and development of production staff.
• Ensure OSHA safety compliance and proper equipment maintenance.
