Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division in Detroit, MI is seeking a Commodities Assistant Supervisor to help manage production and warehouse operations in a nonprofit setting. This full-time role supports budgeting, efficiency, and work therapy assignments while supervising production staff and coordinating with the Production Supervisor.

You will oversee inventory, collaborate with vendors, and help maintain cost controls, quality, and safety within OSHA-guided standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of management experience including production scheduling, supervision, recruiting, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising all production within the warehouse, including baling and compacting.
• Support the implementation of Product Control Procedures to prevent shrinkage through theft or spoilage.
• Work with vendors to ensure rag and bulk sales are handled efficiently and profitably.
• Ensure daily inventory is maintained as provided.
