Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Commissioning Lead for HV, BESS, and PV projects in the United States. You will plan and oversee testing, manage commissioning teams, and coordinate with engineering, construction, QA, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with schedules and safety standards.

Eligible candidates have 3+ years of utility-scale experience, strong electrical knowledge, and proven team management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of testing and commissioning on utility-scale electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Experience managing project teams and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and proactive issue resolution.
• Strong organizational skills with multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Knowledge of HV and MV switching operations and equipment grounding.
• Knowledge of LOTO safety program procedures.
• Knowledge of substation protection and control systems.
• Knowledge of fiber installation and test requirements.
• Understanding of SCADA testing and commissioning requirements.
• Knowledge of DC systems architecture and testing requirements.
• Knowledge of NFPA/NEC, IEEE/IES/API, NETA, and NERC standards.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to work full-time on a jobsite, travel, and stay out of town for extended periods.
• Ability to perform the listed physical demands, including lifting 50+ lbs and working near medium and high voltage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and oversee testing and commissioning for HV, BESS, and PV projects.
• Manage commissioning teams and provide guidance, training, and support.
• Report project status daily to the Commissioning Manager.
• Review technical, contractual, and regulatory commissioning requirements.
• Assist with milestone and deliverables lists, project commissioning plans, procedures, schedules, and resource plans.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, construction, QA, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare daily commissioning reports and review test results, issues, and corrective actions.
• Monitor project timelines and resources.
• Improve commissioning processes using feedback and lessons learned.
