Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Commissioning Specialist to support Data Center commissioning projects on-site. You will lead electrical commissioning activities, perform testing and start-up, and ensure environments meet design requirements and stakeholder expectations.

You will interact directly with clients, project stakeholders, and contractors to drive safe, reliable operations. The role requires 2–3 years of focused commissioning experience, plus NFPA/NETA/NICET knowledge and the ability to travel up

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in related discipline.
• 2–3 years of focused experience as an electrical commissioning specialist on documenting L2/L3 activities and leading L4/L5 testing for Data Center commissioning.
• Working knowledge of NFPA, NETA and NICET electrical testing and code requirements.
• Understanding of the Construction process.
• US Citizenship required; background check clearance.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 95%.
• Ideally reside in Washington DC or Northern Va Metro area; travel expenses considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

As a Commissioning Specialist on our team, you will participate in onsite activities to support Data Center Commissioning projects. You will have the opportunity to lead and perform all electrical commissioning related activities to include testing (QA/QC, Functional Performance) and equipment and systems start-up, resulting in a safe and functional environment that meets established design requirements and stakeholder expectations. Candidate will engage in owner’s L4-L5 Data Center commissioning while overseeing and supporting the L0-L3 commissioning activities. You will have the responsibility of working directly with Jacobs clients, project stakeholders, and contractors to achieve the best possible outcome for the owner/client with a focus on operational performance and efficiency.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience10+ years of progressive experience as an electrical commissioning specialist in activities such as: Utility infrastructure, life safety, electrical power systems, low voltage systems, building/facility systems/components, and facility O&M
• 2-3 years of focused experience as an electrical commissioning specialist on documenting L2/L3 activities and leading L4/L5 testing for Data Center commissioning
• Working knowledge of NFPA, NETA and NICET electrical testing and code requirements
• Understanding of the Construction process
• US Citizenship
• Must be able to clear a background check
• Ability to travel up to 95%
