Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Specialist to support Data Center commissioning with leadership in electrical testing, start-up, and safety compliance. You will work onsite with owner and contractor teams to ensure operational performance aligns with design requirements.

The role requires 10+ years in electrical commissioning, strong NFPA/NETA/NICET knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 50%. A hybrid work model is available in the DC/Northern VA region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience as an electrical commissioning specialist.
• 2-3 years focused on L2/L3 documentation and leading L4/L5 testing for Data Center commissioning.
• Working knowledge of NFPA, NETA and NICET electrical testing and code requirements.
• Understanding of the Construction process.
• Must be able to clear a background check.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

As a Commissioning Specialist on our team, you will participate in onsite activities to support Data Center Commissioning projects. You will have the opportunity to lead and perform all electrical commissioning related activities to include testing (QA/QC, Functional Performance) and equipment and systems start-up, resulting in a safe and functional environment that meets established design requirements and stakeholder expectations. Candidate will engage in owner’s L4-L5 Data Center commissioning while overseeing and supporting the L0-L3 commissioning activities. You will have the responsibility of working directly with Jacobs clients, project stakeholders, and contractors to achieve the best possible outcome for the owner/client with a focus on operational performance and efficiency.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience
• 10+ years of progressive experience as an electrical commissioning specialist in activities such as: Utility infrastructure, life safety, electrical power systems, low voltage systems, building/facility systems/components, and facility O&M
• 2-3 years of focused experience as an electrical commissioning specialist on documenting L2/L3 activities and leading L4/L5 testing for Data Center commissioning
• Working knowledge of NFPA, NETA and NICET electrical testing and code requirements
• Understanding of the Construction process
• Must be able to clear a background check
• Ability to travel up to 50%

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

• Ideally the candidate will reside in the Washington DC or Northern Va Metro area
• Industry recognized commissioning certification
• IR thermography Level 1 or Level 2 certification
• AWS or similar L4 lead certification
• NFPA 70E certification
• OSHA 10 (minimum), OSHA 30 (preferred)
• Experience with PQMs

The base salary range for this position is $118,300.00 to $207,100.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
