Job summary

Skydio is seeking a Commercial Solutions Engineer to join our team. This remote role requires 50–75% travel to support customer engagements, deployments, and events. You will collaborate with Account Executives to design solutions, guide onboarding, and drive long-term program success for diverse customers.

The role demands hands-on experience with unmanned systems, APIs, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring scalable, repeatable deployments and strong customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active FAA Part 107 certificate.
• Experience in unmanned aircraft operation or regulatory environments.
• Experience in core commercial segments: utilities, AEC, security, or oil and gas.
• Familiar with REST-based APIs or similar technologies.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Solutions-focused mindset to support the sales process and revenue goals.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives through the full sales cycle.
• Translate complex use cases into operational workflows and scalable deployment practices.
• Run proofs of concept with measurable operational value.
• Guide integration and airspace strategy — REST APIs and data environments, security and video platforms, networking, BVLOS waivers.
• Guide customers through onboarding, implementation, and expansion, and build reusable technical assets.
• Provide field feedback to Product and Engineering as prioritized requirements.
